What is the LMC?
Lincolnshire LMC comprises of 18 elected GPs, plus members co-opted to represent particular interests not represented by those elected. Elections are based on constituencies comprising the three PCT areas in Lincolnshire and there are 6 representatives of each area. Elections take place every 2 years.
Meetings of the LMC take place each month. The LMC has a secretariat that comprises:
The day to day running of the LMC is devolved to this group. In order to facilitate working, an executive sub committee made up of members of the LMC, meets once a month to provide direction and advice on issues. Overall strategy is devolved to a Management Committee comprising 5 members of the LMC, which meets at least twice yearly.
Lincolnshire is part of the Trent Strategic Health Authority (SHA) area and working together with Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire LMCs as Trent LMC, we are able to provide a strong voice for GPs at Strategic Health Authority level.
A list of all officers of the LMC and the service members of the LMC, together with their contact telephone numbers is listed below. GPs should not hesitate to get in touch with the Secretariat for advice on any matters relating to their provision of service.
The office is open from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.30am and 5.00pm.
